Vlogger made extremely fake appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show
Lukasz Jakobiak, 33, who built a fake set, hired a camera crew and an Ellen DeGeneres look-a-like to ‘appear’ on the American chat show.
It was Beata Skokowska, who appeared as Ellen for him in the video, has been viewed by more than 1 million people and we have to admit, if you hadn’t watched Ellen for a good few weeks and squinted a bit, the whole thing could be pretty convincing.
The 33-year-old vlogger reinforced the whole thing with some posts on his Instagram account.
He hasn’t revealed how much was spent on creating the set or hiring the team who worked on the video, or who funded it.
He told MailOnline: ‘I look up to Ellen because she has the courage. That’s why I chose her. I’ve been called a genius and a creep.’
In the 21-minute long video which fooled his fans, the vlogger is seen receiving a call inviting him to appear on Ellen’s show before he calls his mum, who believes his claim.
He then hops on a plane to Los Angeles. Or does he?
On the ‘show’ he and ‘Ellen’ discuss his interview with Anastasia and his use of the motivational tool visualisation, trying to envisage something to achieve it. Hmm, that seems rather relevant doesn’t it.
In a particularly meta-moment at the end of the clip the vlogger plugs his upcoming projects and Ellen tells the bogus studio audience that they can see more of Lukasz on his YouTube channel – where we are already watching them. The ‘interview’ ends with a even more surreal clip of the pair dancing because well, why not? We’ve come this far.
