This sensational picture was captured on the shore of Lake Ontario in upstate New York after the home was battered by water whipped up by freezing winds.
In fact, the scene is so extreme that many people have refused to believe it is genuine.
Photographer John Kucko eventually resorted to posting video footage as proof saying that many people thought he sprayed foam to create the spectacle.
He wrote on Facebook: ‘Bit overwhelmed by the reaction the “Ice House” is getting.

New York state remains subject to a blizzard warning from the US National Weather Service with 12 to 20 inches of snow expected.
