New teaser trailer of Tom Cruise's ancient Mummy battle

Yes, it’s a new Tom Cruise film.

The movie will follow a group of paramilitary archaeologists who accidentally awaken Princess Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella) as they move her tomb from Egypt to London.

Once awakened Ahmanet is ready to wreck some havoc after being denied her destiny many centuries ago and so the team, led by Tom as Navy Seal Tyler Colt and British actress Annabelle Wallis, must race against time to defeat the Mummy and get her back where she belongs.

And Russell Crowe will star as Dr. Henry Jekyll, making The Mummy the first film in the brand new Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe, which aims to emulate the Marvel Cinematic Universe with remakes of the studio’s classic 1930s monster films.

Invisible Man and Bride of Frankenstein are both in pre-production, starring Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem respectively, while Count Dracula, The Wolf Man and the Creature From The Black Lagoon are all being planned.

The inclusion of Dr Jekyll will kick off the hope that each monster will at some point make an appearances in another films, culminating in an Avengers-style movie with all the monsters.
