Smallville’s Lex Luthor to join Guardians Of The Galaxy 2
Rosenbaum, best known for his role as Lex Luthor in Superman prequel Smallville, has been given a ‘major’ role in the upcoming Marvel sequel.
He joins stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Karen Gillan, who are all reprising their roles.
Rosenbaum tweeted confirming the news, saying: ‘I kept yapper shut 4 a year but can finally say what @JamesGunn announced on…I’m in freaking @Guardians.’
Director James Gunn retweeted him adding: ‘What are friends for if they can’t give their friends roles as major Marvel cosmic characters?’
Gunn told podcast The Adam Carolla Show that Michael’s part will be ‘decent’ and ‘sort of works in tandem with Sly’s [Stallone] character.’
Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 is out on April 28 – and a third might be on the way.
James told Yahoo Movies: ‘There are no specific plans for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3. But we know unless something goes horribly wrong – which is always possible, you never know – I think that Marvel would want to make another movie.’
