Piers Morgan told viewers that terrorists will not win
Piers and Susanna Reid broadcast live from Westminster following the attack, which saw two people murdered on Westminster Bridge before police officer Keith Palmer was fatally stabbed by the suspect – who was subsequently shot dead.
Piers urged viewers to focus not on the attacker but on the heroes including Palmer and also Tobias Ellwood, the MP who attempted to save his life.
He said, "We should remember these people. There’ll be lots of attention given to this horrible little coward who got into his car and mowed down kids and people,"
"But while he did that we should focus on that we should focus on the heroes – that policeman who gave his life, that MP who tried to save his life, and that’s what this country’s about. And we should focus on them as much."
‘It’s Important to focus on the people that did great things yesterday and not just this terrorist that decided he would try and change the way that we lead our lives.
‘I’ve read a few people saying today it’s the end, we’ve given up, we’ve surrendered to this kind of thing, it’s the new normal.
‘No it’s not,’ he declared. ‘We haven’t. We’ll be fine. This is just one lunatic in a car who wanted to change our lives. He will not succeed.’
Viewers quickly took to social media to give Piers their support for his motivational words.
