Pacquiao vs Khan off due to ‘too good to be true’
Pacquiao and Khan announced the fight had been agreed and would take place on April 23 with UAE believed to be the country in which it would be held.
But Arum confirmed this week that the welterweight title clash was not happening and explained Pacquiao was lured into negotiations after an ‘outlandish’ offer from the UAE.
‘When they contacted me, I told them it was pie in the sky that this is crazy, it is not going to happen,’ Arum told the LA Times.
‘Manny wanted to roll the dice.
‘He rolled the dice and it came up snake eyes.
‘If something is too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
‘The deal is done for now. [Pacquiao and manager Michael Koncz] were talking to the wrong people.’
