A B&B with a resident cat? Book us in. Puppy island? Take us there.
Beach in Thailand filled with friendly monkeys

So when PopSugar brought our attention to the existence of a magical beach filled with friendly monkeys, we were very much on board.
Monkey Beach is – as the name probably gives away – filled with monkeys. Monkeys that roam around. Monkeys that paddle in the sea. Monkeys that come up to people and want to play.

The beach is on the island of Ko Phi Phi Don in Thailand, and it’s pretty blimmin’ popular with tourists, all out for getting an Instagram pic with a monkey by their side and the sea in the background.

And seriously, the monkeys won’t be shy about getting up close.

They live in the mountains next to the shore, and have learned that the beach is the best spot to find fruit, seeds, crabs, and leftover snacks from tourists.
The monkeys are a little grabby, and will quickly snatch people’s sunglasses and valuables – plus any food stored in pockets or bags.

Which also means that if you’re keen to get up close with monkeys, you can just offer them a snack. they won’t hesitate to run over.
Once visitors are done chilling with monkeys, they can snorkel, explore the coral, and venture along the stunning beach.

It’s best not to leave any bags behind when you’re exploring, mind you, due to that snatching issue we mentioned earlier.
Anyway, it’s all very pretty, the weather’s great, and there are monkeys. We’re saving up for a plane ticket, stat.
