Most common mistakes on a CV that you shouldn’t make
According to CV specialist Lee Biggins you need to make sure the spelling, qualifications, skills and length are all on point.
Once you have sorted all of these aspects you will start getting a load of interviews (hopefully).
As mentioned before make sure you check for spelling mistakes and also get someone else to look for them as well.
Mr Biggins, who founded CV-Library, said 71% of employers he interviewed during his research would mark down anyone who had grammatical errors on their CV.
He also advised people to be realistic when applying for jobs and not go for something they didn’t have the experience or qualifications for.
The expert said people should tailor their CVs to the application and they shouldn’t put down anything that didn’t relate to the job.
Mr Biggins added 40% of recruiters he asked did not care for unrelated skills on a CV.
Another important thing to remember is length. In this context longer certainly isn’t better.
Don’t go over two sides of A4 if you can help it.
Make sure you are concise and you don’t have things in your CV that aren’t needed.
