Lorde drops a new song and announces album release date

The 20-year-old singer has dropped her new song Liability from her upcoming album Melodrama.

After the release of Green Light, also from Melodrama, last week, Lorde is obviously gearing things up for the release of her album, not surprising now that she’s officially confirmed that we can officially expect it on June 16.

After releasing Green Light at the beginning of March she tweeted: ‘I’m so proud of this song. It’s very different, and kinda unexpected. It’s complex and funny and sad and joyous and it’ll make you DANCE.’

Whereas Green Light is an upbeat refusal to rage against the past Liability is almost a lullaby to a relationship past and has a melancholy-tinged mood in fitting with what we expected from the album title Melodrama.

If Liability and Green Light are anything to go by we’re in for a treat with Melodrama.

At the start of March Lorde tweeted about the album stating it would tell the story of the past two years of her life.

Well we can’t wait to hear how her ‘fluorescent’ life sounds.
