Dragons in Game Of Thrones 7 to be size of jumbo jets
While each season of the HBO fantasy drama has seen Daenerys’s dragons gradually escalate in scale and CGI excellence, it seems season seven might be the most enormous growth spurt yet.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Matt Shankman, who is one of four directors helming the next season, said: ‘The dragons this year are the size of 747s.
‘Drogon is the biggest of the bunch – his flame is 30-feet in diameter.’
If you need specifics, the dragon’s new jumbo-jet size suggests they could be around 230 feet long with a wingspan of 210 feet.
Remember when they were wee dragon babies? Oh the days.
Daenerys’s trio of dragons were last glimpsed in the concluding moments of season six accompanying her invasion, where they were already monstrously huge.
Kit Harington aka Jon Snow has also been talking up the scale of this year’s season to ABC News, saying how it has ‘so much more ambition’.
‘There are [fewer] episodes this year, so they spent more money on those episodes,’ Kit said. ‘So, the whole scale of it is up.’
It was recently confirmed how the final season of the show will have an even shorter run of six episodes.
