Teenager vomits after seeing insect crawling out of her pizza
A teenager claims she was sick after biting into a pizza – only to see a wriggling bug.
Tia Neylan captured a Snapchat video of the insect crawling across her pizza and the stomach-churning footage has been now been shared thousands of times on Facebook.
The 16-year-old ordered the pizza from Norton’s Express Pizzeria, which her family have used for over a decade – but was left horrified when she found the extra topping.
‘I literally just threw up everywhere,’ said the trainee care assistant, from Stockton.
‘I didn’t even notice it until I’d taken a bite from a slice.
‘I looked at the pizza in the box and there it just was wiggling around.’
The man who has owned the High Street takeaway for the past 18 years, believes the teen may have faked the bug.
‘When I watched the video, I was upset because for an insect to survive 400 degrees – that is impossible,; said the owner Mr Bashir.
‘Some people have said it was already in the box but insects don’t survive this environment.
‘If it is true, it is shocking but I can’t believe it – there wasn’t even any salad for it to be have been in.’
The chicken-topped pizza was picked up from Norton’s at around 8pm on Sunday night.
They chose the takeaway – which has a one star food hygiene score – as they’d had tasty pizzas from there before.
But she’s been put off for life after finding the bug – which she still doesn’t know what it was.
