Police car was flattened after strong winds in the US

Recorded on a dashcam of another vehicle, the clip shows the truck struggling to keep upright against the 90mph winds.

A police car, which had been parked up on the hard shoulder, still had its lights flashing.

A freak gust of wind then manages to force the lorry over, just as it is passing the car in Wyoming, America.

Luckily for the officers, they had vacated the vehicle just moments before the incident on Tuesday.

They had been attending to two other incidents of cars being blown over in the bad weather at the time.

Both the lorry driver and his passenger also escaped unharmed.

Speaking to EastIdahoNews.com, Wyoming Highway Patrol Lt. Kelly Finn said: ‘I am so lucky right now that I have not lost two troopers.

‘Our troopers were already in the same area working on two other semi trucks that had blown off the interstate.

‘(But) fortunately nobody was in the police car or it would have been a lot worse.’

At the time of the incident, a ban was in place prohibiting lightweight and high-profile vehicles from the road because of the weather.

The lorry driver was issued with a warning by the officers.

Since being uploaded by police to deter drivers from ignoring future bans, the video has been shared more than 93,000 times.
