Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy release date announced

The remaster containing the original PlayStation One Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped will officially launch on June 30, 2017 on PlayStation 4.

Developer Vicarious Visions, who have previous history with the franchise on 2003’s Crash Nitro Kart, are giving the original Naughty Dog classics a graphical and audio overhaul.

Speaking about the title on the EU PlayStation Blog, Game Director Dan Tanguay said: ‘This is a AAA remaster. We’re giving this the love and attention to detail that we pay to all of our AAA games.

‘We’re building it using the original level geometry so that it plays as close to the original as possible. We’ve also referred to this as a remaster plus, as we are adding new features that we think the fans are going to love.’

While we’re still a little uncomfortable with the new animation style, the chance to play Crash Bandicoot: Warped with a fresh glossy sheen is something we’ll happily take for a spin.

The beloved marsupial made his minor comeback in last year’s Skylanders Imaginators, following in the PlayStation franchise footsteps of Spyro The Dragon.
