Businessman from Taiwan claims he captured a strange UFO
A businessman from Taiwan traveling in south-west China captured a beautiful picture of the famous Lake Dian in Yunnan Province during his trip.
But after examining it once he got home to Taipei, he spotted something strange: a doughnut-shaped craft hovering in the sky above the water.
"It just has to be a UFO. It's a strange doughnut shape in the sky," said 44-year-old John Chen of the picture he took.
Mr Chen showed the picture to a UFO expert here in the UK who said he couldn't be completely sure what it was - calling the picture an "open verdict".
The mysterious object has ridged sides and appears to be suspended in mid-air.
"The strange thing is I didn't see it at the time. It was my wife's sister who spotted them. She said there was something in the pictures and I just thought she was joking," Mr Chen said.
What was even stranger was that when Mr Chen compared the pictures with those of his colleagues - who had also been snapping away at the lake that day - the UFO didn't appear anywhere else.
British UFO expert Philip Mantle was sent the images but hasn't been able to reach a definitive verdict on them yet.
"What I can say is that the photographer in question here has always cooperated and seems to be genuinely puzzled by the images on his photos," he told MailOnline.
He said that the flying ring could just be a piece of debris that has somehow been thrown into the air. It's unlikely to be an alien craft visiting China from another planet.
He concluded that further research is needed.
"More study needs to be done on these photos before any definite conclusion can be reached, so in the meantime, it remains an open verdict," he said.
