United Airlines ‘kick couple off flight’ on way to their wedding
The airline was heavily criticised for the removal of passenger Dr Dao from a flight from Chicago in a video posted online which went viral.
And now they are facing further questions after a couple were removed from a flight in Houston.
They are Michael Hohl and Amber Maxwell who were flying from Salt Lake City but had a lay-over in the Texan city. Flying to the city of Liberia in Costa Rica, the couple were the last to board their flight.
When a man was asleep in their seats the pair moved to a different seat within their travelling class.
Yet the couple claim that a United steward turned down their request for an upgrade and asked them to return to their seats.
‘We thought not a big deal, it’s not like we are trying to jump up into a first-class seat.', Michael told WCNC
And added: ‘We were simply in an economy row a few rows above our economy seat.’
Yet the pair have alleged that a US Marshal appeared to escort them off the flight.
The red-faced couple had to fly the next day to make it in time for their Thursday wedding.
And as for the airline? Michael said: ‘The way United Airlines handled this was really absurd.’
Since Dr Dao was dragged off the plane, in a situation he called worse than the Fall of Saigon, several stories have emerged about United.
A 94-year-old grandmother was ‘forced out of business class‘ on a flight to Australia and a former beauty queen has begun legal proceedings against the company.
