Ellen DeGeneres is a genius to sell her merchandise on 4/20 celebration

It was 4/20, the only official worldwide celebration of marijuana, and Ellen DeGeneres was so confident she had high Americans who couldn’t get off their couches watching her show, that she decided to sell them merchandise in the most Ellen way possible.
And ‘If you are high and watching my show right now, you are going to trip out on all the cool new things I have in the Ellen Shop, you are going to trip out, all you high people out there,’ she told viewers before showing off some of the ‘cool new things available’.
Like, a T-Shirt with Ellen’s face on it.
‘It’s me with hearts on my eyes! What? Oooo, it’s me next to me!’

And a mug. ‘Here’s a mug you guys! A mug. A mug. Say that word a few times, it’s a funny word when you say it over an over again, it’s a mug, dude.’

And a bag. ‘Then we have this, this bag right here you could put your mug in – so trippy. If you see my name four times you’re high!’

No-one really knows why or how April 20 became the official day of blazing up but theories range from a Bob Dylan song to the number of chemical compounds in cannabis, or even a secret police code.
The most credible story out there on the origins of 4/20 though is that back in 1971, five students at San Rafael High School in California would meet at 4.20pm – right after doing their after-school sports – to toke up.
It became a tradition, and the group, who called themselves The Waldos, began using 420 as a shorthand for smoking weed; now number 420 is synonymous with marijuana.
Other celebs who celebrated 4/20 included Ozzy Osbourne, Skepta, and Diplo- while Kim Kardashian decided to take the opportunity to also try and sell some merch.
