Or perhaps you didn’t. Either way, the movie about a simulated reality where everyone essentially lives as part of a computer programme is going to get it’s own update like Ghostbusters, and like Disney deciding to update their back catalogue.
Warner Bros. are reportedly attempting the risky business of reprising the 1999 cult classic, which starred Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne and Carrie-Anne Moss.
However, before we all get too excited, the original cast aren’t yet said to be reappearing.
In fact, The Hollywood Reporter claims that Michael B. Jordan is up for a starring role instead.
Keanu Reeves did recently say he would consider coming back as Neo, but only if original writers and directors the Wachowski siblings get involved, and as yet they are not.
Warners are thought to be attempting to at least get their blessing on the project though, even if they don’t join it.
‘They would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not?’ he told Yahoo Movies.
There was a mini The Matrix cast reunion at the John Wick 2 premiere, were they pulling a Beyonce and dropping a hint?
Joel Silver, who produced the originals, is also said to have been approached.
