StarCraft is getting a complete makeover, with 4K graphics this summer
Almost 20 years since StarCraft was originally released, Blizzard’s first sci-fi strategy game and arguably the most influential eSports game that isn’t a shooter.
Blizzard are promising to remake the game with 4K graphics; with every unit, building, and map being remade from scratch. There’ll also be new comic book style cut scenes to help tell the story and all the modern online options you’d expect of a new Blizzard game.
But the gameplay will be purposefully identical to the original though, so all your old tactics and strategies should still work.
You’ll actually be able to play someone who’s still running the original version, without any problems. Which will be easy to try out as they’re making the original 1998 edition free from now on.
This remaster will also include expansion pack Brood War, but currently doesn’t have any release date more specific than sometime this summer.
