The said suspect is lying on a stretcher as he is treated by medical staff, the man was wheeled into an ambulance after allegedly being shot by police.
There were four people killed including a police officer stabbed to death outside Parliament and the terrorist. The attacker was armed with two large knives, mowed down pedestrians with his car on Westminster Bridge, including schoolchildren, then rushed at the gates in front of the Houses of Parliament, stabbing the policeman before he was shot by armed officers.
Another 20 people have been injured, some suffering from ‘catastrophic’ injuries’. A photo of the alleged attacker shows a pair of brown shoes lying to the side as he is strapped to the stretcher and taken to hospital.
Two people were seen being treated on the ground in New Palace Yard amid shouts and screams.
An air ambulance landed in Parliament Square and a regular ambulance came in through the front gates as medics rushed to help the injured people.
Armed police cleared the area around the incident and Parliament Square was closed to traffic.
Scotland Yard said the attack in Westminster was being treated ‘as a terrorist incident until we know otherwise’.
Police told people to avoid the following areas: Parliament Square, Whitehall, Westminster Bridge, Lambeth Bridge, Victoria Street up to the junction with Broadway and the Victoria Embankment up to Embankment tube station.
