No need for you to panic and worry that we’ll be nibbling kale KitKats, let us reassure you that while the new KitKats are healthier than the old ones, they’re still not all that healthy.
The new bars will have 21.3g of sugar, versus the old bar’s 22g of sugar. So that’s a reduction of just 0.7g also have just four few calories than the regular bars, at 209 calories instead of 213. Which is reassuring.
And you’ll be able to tell if you’re picking up a marginally less sugary KitKat by the packaging, which proudly proclaims: ‘now with extra milk & cocoa’. They’ll be popping up in shops from early April onwards.
Fiona Kendrick, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé UK and Ireland, said: ‘I’m pleased to say that these products are the same size as the ones they are replacing and taste just as good.”
‘This is a great example of us using our strength in research and innovation to develop a great recipe that replaces sugar with a bit more of the existing, natural ingredients that people know and love.’
