Japan now offers nap café where you can snooze and drink coffee

Seriously, there are very few places where you can snatch some sleep comfortably and free of interruption. People now is looking for anywhere that can give them a cosy nap zone is much needed.

And in Japan, they’ve got the right idea. Tokyo is currently home to a popup nap café where people can pop in, have a nap on a fancy bed, and enjoy a free cup of coffee when they wake up and it sounds bloody delightful.

The idea is a collaboration between Nescafe and France Bed as part of their World Sleep Day celebrations, setting up shop in a Nescafe in Harajuku.
The nap café is dimly lit and filled with ten magical electronic reclining beds (which means you can adjust them with a remote. Fancy.), a smartphone-controlled light set to ‘relax’ mode, and a headphone and walkman set so visitors can play music if they need to.
Customers will be able to enjoy a cup of decaff coffee, and when they wake they’ll be given a cup of regular, caffeine-packed coffee so they can head back out into the world free of any grogginess.

It all sounds gloriously relaxing and like the perfect antidote for a sleepless night. But, naturally, there’s a catch. Two catches, in fact.
First off, the popup’s only open until 26 March, so it’s not the eternal nap spot we’ve been desperately searching for.
And secondly, to take advantage of the napping and free coffee, customers have to buy a food item. You can’t just nip in, nap, and run out without giving Nescafe any money. But to be honest, that’s not a bad thing. A post-lunch nap is brilliant.
Hoping the popup is so popular that it inspires cafés the world over to create their own napping zones, filled with comfy pillows and cosy duvets. We need this.
