Game Of Thrones season 7 first trailer is here
In a typically painful Game Of Thrones wait, HBO released the start date of the new season by making fans melt a block of ice with flame throwers.
But given that they made the fans work for an hour to learn the all important date, they kindly then paid them off with this first look (or rather, listen) at the upcoming series.
So after learning that July 16 is the one for the diaries, the new trailer released with Jon Snow telling the viewer: ‘There’s only one war that matters: the Great War.
‘And it is here.’
Crikey.
There are voices from the past featured in the one minute clip, Joffrey pops up for instance, as does Ned Stark. All hinting at the culmination of the war sparked several seasons ago.
Visually there wasn’t much to see, just statues of dragons and direwolves and the like to represent the houses, but in the end they all crumble as Daenerys says they are all merely spokes on a wheel. Chills.

More than 160,000 viewers attempted to melt the ice sculpture to reveal the start date, which was hosted on a Facebook Live.
Viewers had to type ‘FIRE!’ for one blast of fire or DRACARYS!’ for two.
