Drake’s album More Life smashes massive streaming records

The much-anticipated release on Saturday March 18, the rapper’s new playlist dominated most streaming charts

On Apple Music, racked up a whopping 89.9 million streams in the first 24 hours, and broke the Apple Music’s single-day album streams record.

Also in Spotify, notched up 61.3 million plays on its first day, also breaking Spotify’s record, previously set by Ed Sheeran’s Divide with 56.7 million streams over 24 hours.

But "More Life" wasn’t done there setting new records with Saturday’s episode of OVO Sound Radio, which premiered the playlist, becoming the biggest Beats One show to date. With the current stats, "More Life" album is on track to smash every music streaming record set by his previous album.

And so it seems the move to stream on more than one platform paid off, after deciding not to stick to just Apple Music like for his last album.
