But she walked into the lounge and this is what she saw.
What makes the picture so heartbreaking is that William is telling Thomas, who has terminal cancer, ‘Big brother is here. Everything is okay.’
Their mother, Sheryl Blanksby, shared the image on instagram. She and her husband Jon want to spend as much time as possible with Thomas beofre the cancer that was found on his abdomen takes his life.
Sheryl, from Western Australia, said: ‘Throwback to when we were on our holiday. I was getting ready in the bathroom and husband was in the kitchen.

‘The kids were quiet, especially Mr preschooler. You know the rules about when kids are quiet.
‘I tiptoed to the lounge with my camera ready to catch anything they are doing. I was expecting my baby to be covered in Nutella or something but instead I saw this.
‘My preschooler is telling his baby brother “Kuya (big brother) is here. Everything is ok”.’
Mrs Blanksby, who doesn’t know how long she’s got left with her son, told Mail Online Australia previously: ‘There are tears and that immense pain of losing someone you love so much.

‘We film him constantly and stare at him and kiss him. We as a family are trying to cope the best way we can, but it has been very hard.’
Thomas had a malignant rhabdoid tumour, which is an incredibly rare and aggressive form of cancer. The average age of diagnosis is 15 months old.
