The president of Iceland wants to ban pineapple on pizza
The best pizza topping is, undeniably, Hawaiian.
That sweet juicy pineapple nestling on top of salty slices of ham and gooey cheese is a thing of food porn and culinary wet dreams.
Making full use of what the land has to offer, the combination of fruit, meat and dairy is unparalleled in its pizza beauty. Keep your pepperoni. Chuck away your margherita. The Hawaiian is the only dinner time friend you’ll ever need.
Yet despite its obvious position as a king among pizza toppings, it seems that not all world leaders are fans.
The president of Iceland, for example, might be a good politician but he’s also a man of trash taste who apparently wants to see a ban on pineapple on pizza.
On a recent visit to a school in Akureyri – Iceland’s second biggest city – Guðni Th. Jóhannesson took part in a Q&A with students, who asked him various pressing questions.
Among other things (like which football team he supported – Man U), one student asked the president what his thoughts were on pineapple being used as a pizza topping.
And Guðni didn’t hold back.
He apparently hates Hawaiian pizza so much that he’d ban pineapple on pizza if he was able to make and pass laws on his own.
