Sophie Turner reveals the new X-Men movie is ‘about to start shooting’
The follow-up to this year’s X-Men Apocalypse does not yet have an official title, writer or director, but it is rumoured to be called X-Men: Supernova.
Now Game Of Thrones’ Sophie, who portrays Jean Grey/Phoenix in the franchise, says her busy schedule will soon shove her back into the world of good-looking mutants.
‘We’re about to start shooting the next X-Men, we’ve just finished shooting Season 7 of [Game of] Thrones, and I’ve got a couple of movies to do before X-Men starts,’ the 20-year-old Brit told HeyYouGuys.
‘And then we go on to Season 8 [of Thrones].’We already know this upcoming film will have a 1990s setting, as it takes place ten years after the events of the previous episode.
Fans are therefore speculating that the film with incorporate the character redesigns of Jim Lee from that decade.
Spurious synopses that have been floating around the internet suggest the story will be a new interpretation of the Dark Phoenix plot from the comics, previously explored in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.
That would mean Miss Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in Thrones, and who is currently dating Joe Jonas, would take centre stage.
It’s also very likely Hugh Jackman’s mug will appear at some point, if his renewed cancer treatment permits his involvement.
