Restaurant offers discount if your children are well behaved

Have you ever been in a restaurant with a child that just won’t stop screaming? Yes, we have too.

But, for some lucky diners in Italy – that could all be about to change.

Because one restaurateur, Antonio Ferrari, has had enough. And by ‘had enough’, we mean he’s doing something about it.

Ferrari, who owns a wine bar in the northern city of Padua, will now offer a discount for families with ‘well-behaved children’.

His idea came when he spotted a party of 11, including five children, sitting at a table ‘with much composure’.

He revealed that he gave the family a 5% discount – and has since done the same to two other groups.

Ferrari added that ‘30% of parents did not know how to handle their children at lunchtime’ and youngsters are always running around.

Speaking to Corriere della Sera, he said: ‘I imagine how difficult parenting is today. ‘

On the receipts of families with well behaved offspring, a ‘Sconto bimbi educati’ discount will be added – ‘OFF, behaved children’.

So if you’re looking for a quiet lunch… it looks like Italy is the place to go!
