Man sues Uber for £38 million for ‘glitch exposed affair’ to wife

Now the French businessman is suing the company for €45m (£38m) accusing them of ruining his marriage.

In his lawsuit, the man claims he logged into his Uber account using his wife’s phone.

But after logging out, the app continued to send her notifications of all his journeys.

The alleged malfunction led to his wife suspecting his infidelity and they have since divorced, according to Le Figaro.

His lawyer David-André Darmon said: ‘My client was the victim of a bug in an application. There’s a function to disconnect but the session was not disconnected and the bug has caused him problems in his private life.’

Although the cause of the alleged bug is unclear, some reports have suggested it is an issue with iPhones running older iOS versions.

A spokesperson for Uber declined to comment, telling the newspaper that, ‘Uber doesn’t publicly comment on individual cases, and especially those which concern things such as a divorce procedure.’
