John Wick 2 star Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves has been given a surprise crash-course in how to speak in the native Essex tongue.

After the 52-year-old revealed on This Morning his mum Patricia was originally from the North East London county, Alison naturally wanted to see how good Keanu’s ‘Essexisms’ were.

‘Let’s see – I don’t know,’ said a nervous Keanu, who agreed to take part in the impromptu lesson.

The John Wick 2 actor looked understandably perplexed as Alison went through a couple of her favourites.

She kicked off with ‘reem’ (something that looks good), ‘well jel’ (very jealous), and ‘shut up!’ (the response when surprising news is delivered) – and poor Keanu was struggling to keep up.

The actor continued to scratch his head when Alison asked if he knew what a ‘vajazzle’ referred to – but rather than explaining she opted to keep things out of the gutter.

Speaking of his new film, Keanu also hinted John Wick could be back for a third outing – but it would come down to whether the audience wanted more of the character.

‘If people like what we did, they go to see it, and watch it then hopefully I’ll get a chance to find out what happens to John,’ he told Metro.co.uk.

‘In the second one he’s getting a little anti-establishment so I wonder what that’s going to mean.

‘I want to see what happens to that guy.’

John Wick 2 is out in the UK on February 17.
