Grammys 2017: Adele cries after fluffing her George Michael tribute performance
Adele became very emotional after deciding to restart her George Michael tribute performance live on air.
The singer swore and said ‘I’m not having a repeat of last year’, as she brought her tribute to the late singer – who died on Christmas Day last year – to a halt.
Adele performed a slowed down version of Michael’s track Fast Love and seemed to struggle with her notes.
During the first verse she said: ‘I’m sorry I know it’s live TV. Sorry for swearing. But I’m not having a repeat of last year. Can start again?’
Of course, only Adele could make the Grammys begin again from the top.
The second time round she sang without a hitched and got a standing ovation from the enraptured audience.
Adele, who is massive fan of the Wham! star, became teary and mouthed ‘thank you’ as the applause continued.
Earlier in the evening the Rolling In The Deep singer absolutely nailed her opening performance of Hello, blowing her unfortunate 2016 performance, which was also hampered by a musical mishap, out of the water.
