Girl falls on railway line a seconds before train is due to depart
Shocking CCTV footage showed the moment a little girl fell on a railway line.
In the video the youngster could be seen running up to a train at Xining City railway station, in China’s Qinghai Province, and then trying to touch it.
But before she could get there she fell through a narrow gap.
Her mum, who had been walking in front of her, immediately noticed she had fallen and tried to save her as the train prepared to depart.
The desperate mother was helped by station police and members of the public who also worked frantically to help the little girl.
Two commuters eventually jumped on to the line and hoisted the child to safety.
The girl was not seriously injured.
Police reminded the public to mind the gap between the platform and train at all times.
