Maxima Aqua Fun

An exciting MUST-GO attraction should be added in your Samal Itinerary, and that is to have a time to chill or get hyped in Maxima Aqua Fun Samal Beach Resort. Maxima Aqua Fun is located at Penaplata, IGACOS which is a booming area of Samal because of its close parameter to the wharf. This resort is known for the exhilarating water sports installed that is truly an endorphin-boosting experience. It’s also known for its natural beautiful landscape that appears from a distance as a resort floating on the sea.
The resort offers well-maintained facilities, safe amenities, good service and a water play field you can enjoy from dawn until dusk. Like other beach resorts in Samal, Maxima Aqua Fun has an overwhelming cliff landscape and water depth suitable for diving and plunging. They offer snorkeling, diving, kayaking, parasailing and banana boat or jet-ski riding. What the resort boasts is their uniquely constructed 40 meter giant slide that cascades to the water- a sure 6 second plunge awaits. And since the location of this resort is nearby San Jose wall and cave which is an exciting diving site, then the resort also has scuba diving packages for beginners and professionals. This is something you don’t want to miss. If soaking in the water is the least thing you’ll do, you can still enjoy their Canopy Walk package wherein you got the chance to walk in a freaking high canopy and jump at the end of the trail just to finish it. Maxima also offers overnight package if you prefer to see the lovely view of the sunset in this side of Samal Island. You are allowed to pitch your tent in your preferred area of the resort. Cookout facilities dot the resort so bringing fresh produce won’t be a problem. The downside though is that stores for quick purchases are not available nearby so better bring all you need before heading here.

Kaputian Beach Park Resort

Experience a beautiful white sand at Kaputian beach park resort which is located at a southern coast of Samal Island. The resort takes the pride of its natural pulchritude of crystal blue waters that stand among other resorts. It offers a very affordable beach resort that suits your needs. The location of the Kaputian Beach Park Resort is near at Poblacion.
It is also a great place to go if you want to get away from stressful life in the city. It takes 40 to 60 minutes boat ride boat from Sta. Ana wharf to reach this beautiful white sand beach. There are quite a few restaurants to choose from outside the beach and guests are allowed to bring foods and drinks without any corkages.
The Kaputian Beach Resort offers both native bungalows and dormitory for those who wish to stay overnight at a very reasonable price. The structures of all cottages are facing in the west side to give a breathtaking view of the nearby Talikud Island.

Isla Reta Beach Resort

Another best beach resort located in Talicud Island is Isla Reta Beach Resort.. Talikud is a Cebuano term of the “back”, it is so because Talikud island can be seen at the back of Samal island.
There are quite a few restaurants to choose from on this resort so you will never get bored with the dining options. However, it is advisable that you bring your own food. The price is around 50% more than the city rates, maybe because people have no other place to get the food in the area. You can have bountiful lunch at the provided tables with your family and friends.
You can also enjoy strolling to the rocky portion of the island, it has more coral and fish compared to other public areas. With your snorkeling gear, you can witness the young coral and the various marine life living there. Sea urchins present on the beach might spoiled your fun, just keep your feet away from them.
The seashore of Isla Reta beach resort holds a potent lure for the sun bathers. You can either sleep on tent, on small huts, or in a hammock hang in between the trees for relaxing afternoon siesta.
The Isla Reta is behind a small village, still, there are regular trips for tourists and travelers up to 3pm. It only takes a ten-minute boat ride to reach Samal Island, plus it takes around 30 to 45 minutes trip to Talikud island.

Passig Islet, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur

Passig Islet, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur

It is not uncommon in the Philippines to find little islets situated near bigger islands. Being an archipelago, this is already a common occurrence. However, this does not mean that people who witness these islets do not feel any wonder and amazement anymore because common as they are, these islets still exhibit the great mysteries and beauty of nature. Such is the case of the used-to-be secluded Passig Islet in Digos. The first inhabitants of the little island were the staff of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Fishing – Task Force. Since the island gets almost submerged with water during high tide season, the staff slowly reclaimed some parts of the area. After which, different trees were planted including the more important mangroves. Then, a footbridge was constructed connecting PASSIG to the mainland, however, the bridge was slowly overcame by decay. Now, the place could be reached by boat for P200.  You can opt not to rent cottages but if you wish for better accommodation the closed cottage is worth P500 while the open ones are P300. Though the place does not collect any entrance fees, visitors are encouraged to hand out any amount for donation to help in maintenance cost.

Little Boracay Beach Resort, Sta. Maria, Davao Del Sur

Little Boracay Beach Resort, Sta. Maria, Davao Del Sur

Just smaller in size, this little island in Sta. Maria in the province of Davao del Sur looks like
a replica of Boracay, thus the name. However, unlike the more popular bigger island that is
known for its shoreline parties and bustling tourist visits, Little Boracay is much more peaceful.
Yes, it has still the white sand beach, pristine blue waters and wonderful underwater coral
formation, not to mention the rich population of fish and other underwater sea creatures.
However, it offers a more peaceful ambiance that tourists would really appreciate especially
that the island could be reached only by boat from the town proper. Even with the seclusion,
there are decent accommodations available that are ideal for both day and overnight stays with,

could even house company retreats and seminars. On top of these, a stay in the island is also
very affordable with entrance fees of P10 for kids and P20 for adults. Those who wish to stay
overnight would just need to add another P10.
