Disney has just aired its first ever same-sex cartoon kisses

In a recent episode of Disney XD show Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil, a crowd scene at a concert showed two pairs of women kissing, and one pair of men doing the same.

It’s a significant step forward for LGBT visibility, particularly considering the audience for this show is children.
On top of that, it seems Disney is slowly moving away from its rigidly conservative depictions of love and sex, so those campaigns for a new gay Star Wars romance may just come true. Who knows?
Disney, which has never created an openly gay character for any of its films, has tried to feature minor gay characters in its TV shows before.

STAR VS. THE FORCES OF EVIL - "Star Comes to Earth" - As tradition dictates, Star receives the royal magic wand for her 14th birthday, but her parents worry that she is not ready for the responsibility and send her to a place they deem safe – Earth. This episode of "Star vs. The Forces of Evil" premieres Sunday, January 18 on Disney Channel (9:00 p.m., ET/PT). (Disney XD) STAR

The company faced a furious backlash in 2014 when lesbian parents featured in their live-action sitcom Good Luck Charlie.
Conservative group One Million Moms complained about this depiction and the show ended shortly after.
